A chance meeting
I photographed the picture below, together with a series of pictures of an operation, from a 26 year old album of an old widow, Winnie, who operates a guesthouse in the Kingdom of Tonga, in the South Pacific.
By chance we came to talk about the Philippines and healers and then she pulled out the album and told her story.
She had lost her speech as a result of a stroke and in spite of her visiting specialists and all kind of attempted therapy, no one had been able to help her for 7 years. She had not been able to talk during all that time.
In 1975 her husband had taken her to the US, but of no avail.
On her way back he decided to take her to the Philippines and she was brought to a healer , whose name she had forgotten. But she still had the pictures that her husband had taken.

Who is this healer?
In several sessions the healer worked his energy from the top of her head down to her throat, without penetrating her skin. Then, on the third day, he opened her throat with his hands, removed a clot of tissue and blood and gave her her voice back.
She was healed.

In total there may be more than 50 "bare handed surgeons" practicing now in the Philippines.
