Here is an extraordinary shot, that captures Jun during an operation under an "umbrella" of lightning-fast candle light. (click on the pictures to see them enlarged)
I did not see this effect when I took the picture; I presume it was too fast for the eye to see, but the short exposure of the flash picture managed to pick it up.

For the skeptics: these pictures predate Computer Image Manipulation techniques. The age of the prints and negatives can be established by scientific means.
Typical for his style of operation was that he was able to close the wound made by his bare hands immediately after the operation was completed and that no scar was visible. The operation could be felt as a sort of massage with his fingers inside, but it was painless.
If it was not for what my camera (Olympus OM-2) had recorded at these sessions and the presence of many other witnesses who saw what I saw, I would have been tempted to write off the experiences as hallucinations.
I have the greatest sympathy for a skeptical attitude towards these phenomena; even firsthand "seeing is believing" doesn't come easy.
Yet, in all cases I clearly saw him penetrate the skin with his bare hands.
I was still incredulous enough to let him try it three times on my own leg, where he (unsuccessfully) attempted to reconnect a severed nerve.
What he could do quite easily was removing cysts, stones, swollen tissue and tumors, and many people, too poor to be able to afford real surgery, came to him for quick, painless and apparently effective relief.
When I asked him if he would stick his hands into the table, because I still could not convince myself that what I had seen, felt and photographed was real, he declined, saying that his mentor had strictly forbidden him to experiment with his power and only allowed him to use it for treating the sick.
